I bought SONY KDL-50W900B in March 2015 for Rs. 1, 00, 000 (1 Lakh Rupees) and honestly, we have hardly used the product for less than 2-3 hrs/day. Having contacted the customer service in May 2018 I was told by my nearest Sony Authorized dealer that the Mother Board needs to be replaced and would cost me Rs. 45000 ( Fourth Five Thousand Rupees ) with a warranty of 3 months.
Below are my questions:
1. Why are your parts so expensive?
2. why are your Sony products not reliable or robust?
3. Why do your Authorized dealers provide me different pricing of motherboards?
4. Why is your customer service so pathetic?
Honestly from the day, I raised the issue with the Sony Support till date I have no resolution. Please understand I have spent big bucks on the product and on top have to go though huge challenges with your product and services.
I WILL NEVER BUY YOUR SONY PRODUCTS EVER.
Please note – From May 2018, I am suffering with my TV and want to share the worst experiences I had with the Sony guys. I am assuming the Sony Heads will approach me and provide me with justice.

I have purchased a Sony TV Model No: KDC 50W 950D through M/s Sree Balaji Electronics, Hyderabad on 11.5.2017 by availing 25% discounted price on return of my old Sony TV Model No: KLV 46W 300A MEI and the TV was delivered on 17.5.2017. Now the TV has developed a problem with the Tube. I was not provided the Bill/Invoice for the said purchase. After giving complaint at Customer Care M/s Sree Balaji Electronics representative visited and said that the tube can be replaced free of cost if I possess the Bill/Invoice as the tube is under two years warranty. so far nothing is heard from service provider or Sony India on the subject. Kindly Expedite and replace the defective tube at the earliest and oblige. Regards.
I had purchased a Sony Bravia 43″ KLV-43W7772E model on 22nd Jan 2018. I had a problem with this TV in July 1st week as the TV was not getting switched on. A complaint was lodged and Ur engineer after visiting told the TV wud have to b taken to service centre for repair. The same took 10 days and it was reinstalled. Now after a month I am again facing the same problem as the TV is again not getting switched on. Within 7 months of purchasing a new TV worth 50k odd, if it breaks down twice, I guess it’s not at all expected form a brand like ‘sony’.
I feel cheated and am made to believe the product which I bought was a defective one. Kindly look into the matter and advise unless u want me to be going to consumer court.

i have purchased Sony LCD TV bravia cx32 in 2012 from sonovision kakonada.now im facing problem in video.i called my nearest vijayawada service station but no proper response.Your service engineer Mr.ajay has not visited my home and just asked for a video of display , after checking whatsapp video he advised to replace the display screen saying its display screen is disorderd and it will take approx Rs.12000.
also he advised me to exchange with new TV as he has no stock of panels
is it the way of customer care?
how can we expect these kind of problems in such a big brands like sony

1. I don’t see any point in paying so much for repair purpose with such product, which already is having manufacturing defects.
2. What is the guarantee that after one year the panel does not fail or any other part does not work after the panel is changed, do you expect your customers to suffer and spend their hard earned money on your bad quality products.

we purchased our Sony Bravia Android TV 2 years back. Until now, it was running fine. There was a software update after which youtube and internet stopped working. This software update was sent by Sony and now the service engineer who visited says that Mother Board has to be replaced and it will cost us 13000 Rs. Also he says that it doesnot come under any guarantee. Because this Bug was through Software update and that update was demanded by Sony software, i would request the company to take care and guide us overcome this bug. The problem is sound output from the system which I become to know that the amplifier at board. Today 2nd Jul’18 I got call from the service centre saying that they unable to service the music system due to unavailability of spares.
I bought this system for around Rs28000 in 10 yrs. back. I loved this system and i am using this as home theatre for my UHD TV. Such a big market player and reputed brand in electronic appliances like Sony should not tell like these answers without responsibility. Sony like companies are very faithful and have good customer centric culture. I surprised that such kind helpless words hearing from the authorized service centre person and improper answers. We are very much upset and i cannot throw my system in to dustbin. Why we go for Sony like brands means thought good service after sales, good caring, believing in quality. Absolutely quality is good. But the service point of view i would like to get good support from your end.
Kinds request you to do the needful. Sort out our issues of unavailability of spares. Request you to make arrangements of spares for recover my system back to good performance.

Sir I have TV Model KDL 46 EX 520. Tv though it show connected with my Wi Fi but no application was working. Your Customer care at Mahanagar Lucknow updated the software with ver PKG 4.027GAA_- 0104. Even then the problem remained same and now we can not watch any Channel on TV at all. It keep son rebooting. On your site we found that for this TV update version should be PKG 4027AAA. However your service customer care now feel there is some problem with hardware for which I do not agree because my TV was working fine and we could watch all Channels. What I feel that they have updated it with wrong update. Kindly look into matter and resole it quickly.

We purchased Sony LED TV Model KLV-32R512C (Serial No.4534685)(five star product) from your authorized dealer for the price of 32000/-(the amount 32000 cannot be considered less as long as we are leaving in the country like India). Manufacturing year for the product is 2015 ( it means just 3 years before). Now we are facing problem with that TV screen. Seems to be that screen LED has got damaged.
I called your customer care and the reply i got is the worst. They are saying that because it is an electronic item, they cannot give warranty about it and they are charging me 10000/- for fixing this problem (with saying that guaranty after fixing it will be 4 months).
So basically you people are saying that for the product of 32000 i have to pay repair cost of 10000 and after 4 months if again it is having any problem then that will cost separately , what kind of service is this???????

1. That on 09/03/2012 I had purchased Sony Colour LED TV, Model KDL-40EX720 INS bearing Serial No. 2428743 from Ashoka International for a sum of 70,000/- installed at my residence at 2498 Sector 16, Faridabad.
2. That since beginning the performance of Sony LED TV was not up to mark as was publicized and assured by you.
3. That you have cheated us by selling substandard LED TV.
4. That subsequently during a very short span of about two and half years, Sony LED TV started producing strips on the screen showing screen display problem.
5. That complaint was lodged with the Sony Service Station and complaint was attended by Service Engineer but unable to resolve the problem.

When contacted the dealer m/s UBC tirur, they informed their helplessness. This is quiet unbecoming on a prestigious brand like yours. A speedy redressal is expected, lest I fear I should go for legal proceedings against you
This is regarding our lcd model no-32Bx320. We have bought this lcd on 22nd Jan’2012. Since the warranty overed and a month ago lcd display has gone and we are unable to see any image in lcd. We have contacted the service center and according to technician lcd pamel has broken and we have to spend 10000/-to 12000/- rs for repair the lcd. This is truly unfair as warranty overed and product stopped working.
Kindly look into this matter as soon as possible and work on product replacement.

I have been facing a problem with my Sony Bravia TV set (Model no: KDL-26EX550). I had purchased the TV on 26 May 2012 from EZONE, Growels Mall, Kandivali (East), Mumbai.
Problem: The screen has two huge black circles and the black marks are spreading. There are green vertical lines on top of the screen and spreading as well. A similar problem though not so severe (smaller purplish marks) had occurred last year as well. At that time the Customer Care had repaired it.
For the current problem, I called up Customer Care (1800 103 7799) on Saturday (27 April 2013) and was told that the mechanic would come over to my house to check the TV on 28 or 29 April 2013. Someone called up from Sony Customer Care on Sunday (28 April) and said that a mechanic would come that day. The mechanic did not come on Sunday and eventually arrived on Monday (29 April). He checked and photographed the screen and said that he would give a report by Tuesday (30 April). He did not.
No one from Customer Care communicated anything to us either. We called up on Wednesday (1 May) and the Customer Care was not even aware that someone had come to our place and taken a photograph. The Customer Care personnel assured me that he is placing my complaint on an urgent basis and that somebody else would come to repair the TV set. On Thursday (2 May) I got a call from a mechanic and I asked him to come over any time that day after 02.00pm. He did not turn up.
Till today no one has intimated us about any update. It is now one week since we filed our complaint with Sony Bravia Customer Care.
My warranty period is until 26 May 2013. Today is 5 May 2013.
Please let us know if Sony Bravia Customer Care has the adequate capabilities necessary to carry out due customer care procedures.
Also kindly expedite the process so that we are not at a situation where the Customer Care delays the entire repair process till 26 May 2013 and then informs that our warranty period is now over and therefore the repair will not fall technically under warranty cover.

I recently went to Dubai (Date from 2april to 5april) as an annual offsite trip sponsored by my company Abbott health care . I was joined with many of my colleagues for this official trip.
During the visit we went to a Sony shop (Name: JUMBO ELECTRONICS,DEIRA CITY CENTER location in Dubai.
I purchased a Sony Bravia 40” LED television. Along with me many of my colleagues ordered Sony Bravia television, however the shop owner did not had sufficient number to fulfill the order. Hence he proposed to deliver the television at our hotel address: DHOW PALACE
We requested for a demo/ trail of the television, however he insisted that this cannot be done as there is not sufficient number of television available at shop and it will have to be procured from the distributor. However he assured all of us of the quality.
The television was delivered the same day in the night and next day we had to return to India, hence there was no option to check the television if it is in working condition.
Once I got back to India, I unpacked my television and to my surprise when I switched it ON, the picture was not coming. Immediately, the next day I reported the same to the nearest SONY distributor in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.
He told me that there is some problem in the television set and we need to request for a replacement of the completed set.
I am sending you, my application to replace my television set.
I have confidence that SONY is a big company and is known for its customer service. Though I have had a bad experience with this television set, still I will be satisfied if you can replace this television set as soon as possible.

Sub- Serious harassment from Sony
This is Subhasish Somaddar,I have purchased a Sony Bravia full HD LED(model no-KDL-32FX520) on 22/10/2011 from Impact Retail pvt.ltd Gurgaon.My bill no is 5G40000004651.It is just 1year 4months my Tv was having a vertical line in the screen. We have called the Sony customer care and merely after 1 week an engineer came to my place and demanded 250/- which was given to him by cash and confirmed that my tv had a problem with its panel. He said that changing of panel will be free as we had 8months warranty left for panel, we had agreed to him as well as he confirmed that the very next day customer care will call and inform about when we will send it to the service center. There was no calls from the center about for the next 1 ½ weeks.We ourself went to the service center (M-4, ground floor, old DLF colony (near SBI) sec-14, gurgaon) on 15/4/13 with the TV and given it for service.
Now whenever we are calling the customer service no one is taking the problem seriously. Mr Deepak who has promised that the TV would be replaced by Sony as we still have few months warranty left. I need a strict action taken against the people who are mishandling the problem and harassing us for the same…
Please give me a strong solution for this problem.

We purchased a sony lcd TV – KLV-32V300A on 18/05/2008 for 65,000 INR and as we were travelling qutie a bit, we actually did not use it much. But now suddenly the TV is dead! on contacting sony service center we are told to change the LCD panel which would cost us another 15000 INR approx. This is seriously ridiculous given we can get a NEW LCD TV adding a little more these days. Also, this brings to us the quality of SONY products which we used to rely on. The lcd tv panel with less use is exhausted within 3 yrs! We think its time we change our loyalty to Sony since last 15 years. It seems the 300 series of LCD TV have a huge defect ratio. somebody from sony should look into it.

Our 32inch Sony Bravia LCD TV (MODEL No. V32A10 costing Rs. 1 Lakh) got slightly pushed by a chair whilst moving and as a result there was a small spot on the left hand side bottom corner of the screen and some red and green lines along the bottom, the rest of the television had a clear picture and was viewable.
We called the above mentioned service centre and the person (Mr Sushil) checked and told us that it would cost around Rs. 9000 plus Rs 700 labour to replace the panel and advised us to use it as it is (which means it was viewable).
Since the HDMI port was also not working, they told us the TV had to be taken to the service centre to check the HDMI port and was clearly mentioned that the panel was only to be replaced if the HDMI was repaired within a few hundred rupees. We were given an estimate of Rs 5000 for replacing the HDMI port, so we decided NOT to get any repairs done at all since we did not want to spend so much money on the repairs (as new 32″ LCD TV’s with warranty are now available for Rs. 15000) and use it as it is, as the picture was still visible.
But when we got the television back from the service centre, the entire screen was blacked out with only a small portion of screen on top working.
We called back the service centre to complain and they totally denied that it was their fault and they could not do anything about it. The service person did not even click a picture of the screen when he came the first time as per your norms, and so nothing could be justified.
Inspite of repeated calls to Mr. Shanbag and Mr.Abdul at the service centre, neither do they come on the line nor do they take any action. They do not even bother to call back after repeated messages are left for them to call back.
We have always believed in SONY as a prestigious brand and buy all SONY Electronic products ONLY, without a second look at the other brands available, and have never needed to approach for any after sales service, however after this experience of the disappointing service we have received from your end, we may now have to consider other brands. Also if no solution is given, we will need to publish this complaint in all Consumer Forums and Newspapers so that other customers are aware that SONY in Mumbai does not beleive in Customer Support.
Kindly take the necessary action and get our TV back in working condition.

I have purchased SONY BRAVIA LCD TV on 30-11-2012 from Hyderabad. It is still in warranty but it is already showing problem in display panel. We tried to made numerous call to toll free number 1800-103-7799 but it is getting automatically disconnected. This is very frustrating as I do not know whom and where to contact for rectifying my problem. Please tell us your contact number where we can reach you and tell you what the problem is. Then only, we can expect a urgent resolution to our problem.
we regret to inform you that we have lodged a complaint on dt 23.07.2012 no. 10782264 at your service center noida but till date the complaint has not been attend till date. we have reminded for the same several time. I have a Sony LCD Bravia 42″ TV. There was some problem with the TV and I called your Sony Service centres in Jaipur. There was no response from the first number 2220606. At the second number 2609690 there was this girl who was outrightly rude and refused to listen to my complaint. She kept repeating “call the toll free number”. I asked her to give me the phone number of the Sony dealer at Tonk Road and she replied “find it from the bill”. This is absolutely shameful and if such is the attitude of your service centres you better close them down.

I have purchase sony LED-3D TV KDV-40HX800 on 13th Aug for E-Zone,Great India Place-NOIDA,delivery for the same was done on 14th Aug, however the packing for the the same was already tampered with scracthes in LED TV adding to this the guy has given me only one 3D Glasses, later on after long argument he send me the second 3D Glasses,
Kindly resolve my query:–
1. Kindy replace my LED TV otherwise i have no option to take this issues to the external consumer support agencies.
2. Kindly explain me, how these Guys from E-Zone can make fool of customer by not providing them the assocerease from Sony.Is this the kind of experience are we expecting from big brand like Sony?.
really Sony Customer care is making people Fool. they are totally miscommunicating . they have neither any direct customer care attending nor taking respossibility of the complaints.I have purchase LCD TV on 25.02.2011. I call every day for installing the same , but they are not doing and not installed now.

I have recently bought SONY TV LCD EX700 model and am totally disappointed. The internet connectivity stopped working only 2 months after purchase.
And the customer care is even pathetic. They will fix up a time and not turn up. After fixing up 2-3 times times when they turn up , they come and check the TV and say there is a fault they have to fix. This same cycle has repeated twice.
But the actual problem is still not fixed after following up for 2 months.
I have always been buying SONY TV since I can remember but now they are not those robust TVs they once used to be . And the customer service is pathetic.
