About Gulbarga University :

Gulbarga University was started as a Post-Graduate centre of Karnatak University in 1970 at Dharwad was later under the Act of Karnataka state was granted the University status in the year 1980. The university is located near to Gulbarga City in Karnataka which is spread under 860 acres of land with 38 post graduate departments and 4 separate post graduation centres located at Krishnadeva Rayanagar. A new Post graduate centres is also currently under construction at Basavakalyan. Every year over 3500 students from various post-graduate disciplines like M.Phil., Ph.D and various other courses are enrolled and study at the university.

University has over 175 faculty members and over 800 technical and no-technical support staff.There are 305 colleges affiliated to this University which enrolls graduate/diploma courses in arts, fine arts, music, social sciences, science & technology, commerce, education and law.
