Dear Sir,
I have applied for serivce tax number on December’10 in the name of Aditya Packers and Movers. In February, 2011 I have checked by net, then I got the number and take a copy from internet. Till today I have not received the Original certificate. On 17th March,2011 I went to the service tax office at 100 ft road, Nr. APM Mall, Anandnagar road, Ahmedabad. I met with the supdt.(RANGE- VIII) for original certificate, he has not given the original certificate and told me that original not required for you. Then I showed the copy of certificate and told him that “please do the official Seal and Signature”, he has not done the signature and told me you can go. I can imagine that he want money for signature and Official Seal. So, I want the reply immediately.

i m working in paper trading co. where we have cartage & freight exps are incured for delivery to party. we deducted TDS @1%. on trasporter bill.my question is that is there any service tax is applicable on cartage exps? or any limits for billing amt?
